The Living Gospel Community

The Living the Gospel Community is a religious congregation of diocesan right of Cebu City, Philippines. Its charism is the renewal of God’s people in all walks of life, to bring about the fullness of man for the glory of God. Its apostolate is pastoral work which involves catechism; value formation to students, parents, prisoners and families of overseas workers; visitation to the families of the prisoners; care for the sick; giving retreats & administering retreat houses; and livelihood assistance to the poor to upgrade their quality of life. These are done in the entire cities and province of Cebu.

Purpose:
The Community commits itself to the task the Holy Spirit continually undertakes in the Church:
1. the upbuilding of the leaders and structures of the Parish;
2. the renewal of the Christian Community itself in its multifarious aspects and levels of life.

At service of the local Church and its pastoral programs, it puts itself at the disposal of the diocesan Bishop in its apostolic activity and contemplative prayer to meet specific needs that he may determine and assign.

Ministries of the Living the Gospel Community in the Archdiocese of Cebu, Cebu City:

1. Pastoral Health Care
> Care and visit to the patients in the hospital, giving moral support and facilitating spiritual nurturance through
counseling and reception of the sacraments
> Facilitating recollections and value formation to hospital personnel

2. Prison Apostolate
> Catechism and value formation to the prisoners
> Visitation and counseling to the family of the prisoners
> Educational assistance and formation to the children of the prisoners

3. Catechetics & Christian Living
> Catechism in schools – preschool to secondary level

4. Evangelization
> Formation & mobilization of local parishioners to the task of evangelization

5. Retreat Center Administration
> Administering retreat houses
> Facilitating retreats and recollections

6. Formation and Healing Ministry
> Formation programs to the formands and LGC associates
> Healing processes and counseling to the wounded and emotionally disturbed
